Culture Shift:

A Northeast Florida cultural shift in the way it perceives, values, and treats its senior citizens will manifest itself through many forms. In 2004, a group called the Multi Generational Literacy Collaboration formed to address the potential of influencing how children perceive older adults. Life: Act 2 leaders also most recently helped launch a Culture Shift Committee in July, 2005. Led by Susan Towler of Blue Cross Blue Shield, this group is investigating (among other issues) how local non-profits and baby-boomers are imagining volunteerism and employment because of aging concerns and retirement plans. There are 3 areas of work and planning being executed:
