United Way Stein Fellowship
United Way of Northeast Florida’s Tocqueville members David and Linda Stein have a vision of a program that brings together our young professionals with established community leaders to promote philanthropy and community leadership, and inspire students to achieve. With their generous gift of $1 million the Stein Fellowship was created. This program will grant select
individuals the opportunity to establish a unique relationship with Tocqueville Society members (individuals who give an annual gift of $10,000 or more to United Way), as well as mentor a student who attends a United Way Full Service School.
Program Overview
Major components of the Stein Fellowship include the following:
Education
Fellows will be required to attend four (4) educational forums around United Way’s focus issue, Helping Students Achieve.
Mentorship
Participants will be required to mentor a student in one
of United Way’s Full Service Schools, through United
Way’s Achievers For Life program, over the course of the
fellowship program (approximately one year). Fellows will
keep a journal of their mentorship experience.
Professional Development
Participants will be matched with a United Way Tocqueville
Society member. They will meet bi-monthly to establish a
relationship and mentor the Fellow on their professional
and philanthropic goals.
Mentor training and matching will be provided by United Way partner agencies and United Way’s Full Service Schools.
