Thanks to a new initiative, hardworking families are now able to place their three- and four-year olds in high quality early learning centers. After a year of learning, research and in-depth analysis, United Way developed the Success By 6 initiative to increase the number of preschool children prepared to enter kindergarten.

Car and motorcycle enthusiasts, mark your calendars to attend the 6th annual United Way 2-1-1 Charity Oktoberfest, Saturday, October 27, at World Golf Village. Hosted by European Car Club of Northeast Florida, this automobile and motorcycle show will feature classic European and vintage vehicles from across the region. Event proceeds will benefit United Way 2-1-1, Northeast Florida's 24/7 information and referral helpline. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, begins at 9:00 a.m. and includes live performances by The Umpah Band and Bavarian Dancers. There will also be an award ceremony for car show entrants. Event grand prizes include a Frigidare stainless steel grill donated by Electrolux, and an aerodynamic, state-of-the-art car topper. Full Service Schools of Jacksonville is hosting a powerful parent training series for parents stressed out by their teen's behavior. Parents of strong-willed teens are raving about the series The Parent Project®.
The Parent Project® takes place at the Regency Square Regional Library in the Arlington area on eleven Thursday evenings beginning October 11th and concluding on December 20th.
These parenting sessions can be life-changing for both parents and their teenagers. Parents of challenging teens come together to be supported and empowered to take specific actions that positively influence teen behavior and the decisions teens make.
Certified facilitators lead each session and workbooks are provided. Sign-up is easy. You won't want to miss a session!
