During the month of May, CIT employees volunteered throughout Northeast Florida, sharing their time and talents with First Coast families, as part of the company’s Global Employee Volunteer Month effort.

Joining forces with its agency partners, United Way customized unique volunteer opportunities for approximately 70 CIT employees.

Employees joined New Heights of Northeast Florida’s staff to finish a mural located in the physical therapy room for adults with disabilities. The mural’s design encouraged exercise and play, which is vital to an individual’s therapy program.

CIT employees also had the opportunity to provide a mini spa day for women living in the transitional housing program at Community Connections. Female residents were treated to facials, makeovers and manicures.

Additional projects included planning a children’s birthday party at Community Connections, organizing items for a yard sale at Jewish Community Alliance, and adding a fresh coat of paint to Angelwood, Inc. facilities.

“Four years ago, CIT launched the Global Employee Volunteer Month initiative to bring our mission statement of giving back to the community to the forefront,” said Patricia Philbin, CIT, Senior Financial Analyst. “Since the launch of the initiative, employees have enjoyed volunteering, giving more than 15,000 hours of service in their respective communities. This is a CIT tradition we are quite proud of.”
